Ko Olina Golf Club's New "Lucky Ladybug Girl" Statue
Ko Olina Golf Club unveiled its "Lucky Ladybug Girl" statue yesterday, inspired by LPGA golfer and Hawaii native Michelle Wie, who grew up learning to play golf at Ko Olina Golf Club.
The statue was modeled after two junior golfers from Ko Olina Golf Club's Ho‘okipa I Po‘okela Junior Golf Program, a non-profit golf program for juniors from the Nanakuli school district that provides learning and playing opportunities.
The “Lucky Ladybug” name comes from Ko Olina Golf Club’s “Legend of the Ladybug:” if a ladybug lands on your shoulder, sweet talk her to your finger and with a gentle breath, send her off.
Lady Luck will lead you to the cup.
