Contemporary Bronze Swimming Carp Sculpture with Verde Patina

: 38" x 13.25" x 23"H
$3,400 $3,500

A vintage casting of a bronze swimming carp sculpture with verde patina. Created with the traditional technique of the lost-wax (à la cire perdue) that allows a great precision and finesse in the details, this animal sculpture depicts a carp, raised on its pectoral fins. Its mouth open, the carp showcases a delicate body torsion particularly visible in its back fin, reminding us of its undulating movement in the water.

Famous for populating the fountains and lakes of many French châteaux (such as Versailles and Fontainebleau for instance), this bronze swimming carp will be a great decorative addition to any home, particularly placed outdoors.
