Bronze Classical Bust of a Greco Roman Philosopher

: 8" x 12" x 22"H
RG1974
$1,250 $1,500

A vintage bronze bust of a Greco-Roman philosopher from the mid-20th century, with great patina and mounted on a custom black base. Created with the traditional technique of the lost-wax (à la cire perdue) that allows a great precision in the details, this bronze sculpture depicts a Greco-Roman philosopher featuring a lovely patina, typical of bronze oxidation. His head tilted to the side, the young man exudes an air of seriousness and introspection.

The artist paid great attention to his short hair and eyebrows, thus giving a strong presence to the ensemble. With its nice proportions, skillful treatment and stunning patina, this bronze bust sculpture circa 1950 will be a great decorative accent in any home, perhaps placed atop a chest-of-drawers, side table or credenza.
